Jeff Chan

A singer, vocal coach, pop-pianist and choral conductor. Jeff Chan is now the Musician Intern (Part-time) at Yat Po Singers. Recently graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA), majoring in Vocal Studies, under the tutelage of tenor Mr. Alex Tam. He has been awarded multiple scholarships including the “HKAPA Scholarships” (full scholarship) and the “William Au Arts Education Scholarship”.

Notable performances include Danilo Danilovitch in Merry Widow (HKAPA), Un Messo in Il Trovatore (Opera Hong Kong), one of the tenor solos of Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy in Helmut Sohmen Composition Prize Concert and many others. Recently, Jeff has just started developing his countertenor voice and won the Best Performance Award at the 1st Wakayama International Music Festival Competition.

Apart from his appearances in opera performances, Jeff has performed various stages of musical theatre, A Cappella and pop settings, including An Original Musical: The Stories of 3 Marys (Bel Canto Singers).

Jeff is also passionate in music education, he teaches choir and pop-singing in many primary and secondary schools, also as vocal coach in musical theatre settings.
