
Nick Yam
Graduated from the Digital Music and Media Department of the Hong Kong Design Institute, majoring in music production and sound design. Nick has studied A Cappella and vocal percussion for over 10 years, and jazz drum for over 15 years. He has studied vocal for more than 5 years with Mr. Raoul Chan, who is the Associate Artist of Yat Po Singers. Currently, Nick is the Musician Intern at Yat Po Singers, he has also served as the composer and playwright for the Company.
Nick has participated in various performances since joining Yat Po Singers, including Yat Po Singers’ Yat Po Two Shows 2024, the LITTLE things in life, and HKPAX “Ground Search”; he had also joined different A Cappella groups and performed in more than 30 performances, including: Elements “The Dragon‘s Blessings” Lunar New Year x Valentine’s Day Music Performance, “Hong Kong Pop Culture Festival 2023: Busking@Museum”, 18dART “islandSing” Outreach Concert, Summer Vibes-Youth Band Marathon 2023, “Jockey Club Yat Po ‘Happy A-ge-cappella’” Year-end Performance (2021-2022), MegaBox “Le Petit Prince Aesthetic Garden” Opening Press Conference Performance, We Share, We Care A Cappella Concert, 2019 AIA Group Limited Annual Dinner-Music Performance, 2018 Vocal Asia Festival:Aca Day, 2017 International A Cappella Extravaganza, 2017 International A Cappella Marathon and HKMM 10 in Concert.
In the past, he was a resident performing member of the professional A Cappella group Focus, playing vocal percussion and baritone.
Nick has been dedicated to promoting and teaching A Cappella and vocal percussion in different organizations and schools. In recent years, cooperated organizations and projects include: “Jockey Club Yat Po ‘Happy A-ge-cappella’”, Wai Sing Music, The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups and Austrian Children’s Choir.
